Erasmus Trustfonds offers €17,500 for Master's students
Two distinct scholarship programmes are now accepting applications for the 2027-2028 academic year. The Erasmus Trustfonds Scholarship in the Netherlands provides substantial funding for international master's students, while Ørsted's Greener Futures scheme supports Norfolk residents pursuing STEM degrees at the University of East Anglia.

Two funding opportunities for the 2027-2028 academic year have been announced, each with distinct eligibility and goals. The Erasmus Trustfonds Scholarship offers financial support for master's study in Rotterdam, while the Greener Futures scholarships aim to enable STEM education for local students in Norfolk.
Erasmus Trustfonds Scholarship
Erasmus University Rotterdam will offer the Erasmus Trustfonds Scholarship for the 2027-2028 academic year, providing up to €17,500 for high-achieving master's students with financial need. The funding is intended to help cover statutory tuition fees, housing, and living costs for one academic year, though precise arrangements vary by participating school.
Eligibility requires applicants to be starting a master's programme at the university and to demonstrate they cannot finance their studies independently. The scholarship is associated with several schools within the university, including Erasmus School of Law, Rotterdam School of Management, and Erasmus School of Economics. Nationality requirements and additional academic conditions differ by faculty, so applicants must consult their specific school's guidance. Required documents often include a CV, academic transcripts, a motivation letter, and a detailed financial statement or budget plan.
The application period for the 2026-2027 cycle is closed, with updated information for 2027-2028 expected in autumn. Prospective students should monitor the official university and faculty webpages for the publication of exact deadlines and instructions, as these vary between programmes.
Greener Futures Scholarships
The Ørsted Greener Futures scholarships support one undergraduate and one master's student at the University of East Anglia for the 2027-2028 year. The awards are specifically for Norfolk residents who lack the financial means to pursue higher education in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields.
This year's postgraduate recipient is Dean Cable from Beccles, a former RAF serviceman who will study an MSc in Cyber Security. The undergraduate award went to Daniel Turner from Norwich, who will begin a BSc in Engineering with a foundation year. Dean Cable stated, "The scholarship really matched with my values, I’m trying to live as green a life as possible." Daniel Turner noted the award allows him to focus on studies and seek internships rather than work constantly.
The scholarships are part of Ørsted's Hornsea 3 Community Benefit Fund. Orla Condra, a development manager at UEA, said the partnership helps alleviate financial pressures so talent and ambition can pave the way for success. Applications for the 2027-2028 academic year are now open.
